Rotary competition poem
HEAT OF THE COMPETITION
Amidst the fiery flames of the stove
The rythmatic chopping of fresh ginger
I walked around in anxiousness
Is this enough for me to win?
Looking around I realize
Talent is all around me
Within me hope slowly dies
But I present the food
To the best of my ability
I pass one plate to the judges
And one outside in the hall
A minute later
People were around my table
Like bees swarming around honey
I heard a woman say-“she deserved to win…”
In utter confusion and extreme joy
I hugged my mom and Miss Roberts
Yes, I have participated in the district rotary competition
And victory was mine
