*Act Of Kindness And Goodwill Story*

Good Morning  +++++++++++++++++++++   *Act Of Kindness And Goodwill Story* Mr. Phillips was just getting ready to leave his office and he remembered that his wife had asked him to bring 1KG of Bananas. When He stepped out, he saw an ill-looking old lady across the road. She was selling fresh bananas on the street. Mr. Phillips usually buys bananas from a grocery shop few blocks away from his office but since he was in hurry to reach home today, he thought about buying them from across the road only. He went to the old lady and asked her the price. She quoted $7 per 1KG. He told, “But the store where I usually buy from gives them for $5 per 1KG, can you not give me for the same price?” The Old Lady told, “No Sir, I can not afford to match that price. I can sell them to you at $6 per 1KG. That’s best I can afford to give you for.” Mr. Phillips told her, “nevermind”. He left in his car towards the usual grocery shop. He went inside and picked up a good bunch of bananas. He went t...

The Simple Bird story

*Happy Morning  * * Short Story - The Simple Bird story* A bird was flying across the sky. It landed on a lawn. The air was fresh, the breeze was light, and the sun was cool. The bird noticed someone crying in the distance, sitting on a lawn chair outside of a house. When the crying had finished, the bird flew over to the person, who now looked corpse-like on the chair. "What's happened?" chirped the bird. "I'm not sure if I'll ever get the job I want," said the person, with a tone of resignation. "Oh. What's a job?" asked the bird. "Just something we do so we can earn money to buy stuff, to pay for food, clothes, houses, cars and stuff like that," said the person. "Oh," said the bird. "So do you have a job?" "Yes," said the person. "But I hate it, I really want a different one." "Oh," said the bird. "Where is your job?" "About fifteen minute's drive away," ...

GREY DAYS

GREY DAYS I   got the news of the pandemic before the holidays.   I   was just waiting for the letter to arrive. I was in Mr Bennie’s class when a teacher delivered a letter. I ignored it thinking it was for sir. At the end of the class each of us got a letter as we got out. It said that we had holidays till Monday. Thankfully, it was only Monday. But no, my nightmare continued. On Monday we got the news that because of the worsening of the covid-19 situation the lockdown was extended until further notice. A part of me felt safe only at home but another part of me was in alarm that I would have to stay home for several weeks… or months, who knows? Physically attending classes in school was an interesting part of my life with regard to both my academic and social life. My academic life has been affected in the sense that I am unable to understand the academic concepts the same way I would have understood in the classroom environment. But it would take much more time and ...

Dear Sara, I’m not sure if you remember me but I am your aunt Susan. I am your father’s elder sister. I’m really sorry I couldn’t   turn up for your father’s funeral. Your father and I had a grudge for almost 6 years about the land that our parents gave us. I was extremely angry with him because he asked me for my share of the land as a loan that he would repay later. I refused knowing that he was extremely ill and if he died the loan would get passed on to you. I knew at a point of time you would have faced this and this letter would have to be written by me. But I never expected it to be so early. I have always wished the best for you and I will always do so. Since you lost your mother as soon as you were born I was the one who took care of you till the age of five. I have always been behind the scenes like sending money for your education, making sure you get   into the best academies and even send you food and presents for Christmas. I always thought of you as my own and...

Damaged Souls Still Have Worthy Story๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ’”

A shop owner placed a sign above his door that said: “Puppies For Sale.” Signs like this always have a way of  attracting young children, and to no surprise, a boy saw the sign and approached the owner; “How much are you going to sell the puppies for?” he asked. The store owner replied, “Anywhere from €30-€50.” The little boy pulled out some change from his pocket. “I have €2.37,” he said. “Can I please look at them?” The shop owner smiled and whistled. Out of the kennel came Lady, who ran down the aisle of his shop followed by five teeny, tiny balls of fur. One puppy was lagging considerably behind. Immediately the little boy singled out the lagging, limping puppy and said, “What’s wrong with that little dog?” The shop owner explained that the veterinarian had examined the little puppy and had discovered it didn’t have a hip socket. It would always limp. It would always be lame. The little boy became excited. “That is the puppy that I want to buy.” The shop owner said, “No, you do...

Lockdown and Me

Image
Lockdown and Me   People think lockdown is such a disadvantage because of the amount of time being lost and the loss of opportunities to make our country better. However, I don’t seem to think so. Opportunities come and go but it is up to you to take it. I took it. I spent most of my time making sure my homework was up to a good standard while also making sure none of my homework is overdue. Other than that, I do some mental maths and I am learning Sanskrit. Sanskrit is an olden language in India which is now the roots of many languages present today. This is the perfect time to know your family better, so I took advantage of that and introduced game nights. Game nights are when me and my family play board games till dinner. I had work to do in the night but nothing to do in the day, so I decided to focus on art and sketching. I would say my favourite types of drawings are kawaii and anime. I also spent time on painting which is something I need to still work on to make it bett...
